ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS

FOR SEPTEMBER

I have provided psychosocial care to first responders, children, and their families since 2015 in community private practice and frontline hospital trauma response care since 2010.

Before going into private community practice, I worked in a leadership role as the Child Life Program Leader at Trillium Health Partners, supporting children and families through traumatic, life-altering experiences, providing psycho-education, positive coping strategies, pediatric trauma assessments, and providing therapeutic play opportunities to limit stress, enhance resilience, medical procedural success and reduce hospital-related trauma. I worked directly with children, youth, medical and allied health teams to uphold best practice standards for pediatric psychosocial care. Eventually, after my own journey with hospital-related burn-out and compassion fatigue, I have studied the effects of vicarious trauma and neuroscience, focusing on releasing the trapped cellular memory of traumatic life events from the mind-body-spirit connection to enhance health outcomes. As a result, I have developed an affinity to working with people experiencing medically undiagnosed symptoms of pain and stress. I have a fascination with epigenetics, trapped cellular energy of stress, and I aspire to one day acquire my Ph.D. in Mind-Body Medicine.

On a personal note, I am a wife, Empath, HSP, nature enthusiast, adventure seeker, and a visionary. When I'm not at work I can be found on my farm, camping, attending music festivals, road-tripping, spending time with loved ones, or reading about psychology, neuroscience, spirituality and the impact of gut health on mental health.

My belief in the power of healing and transformation fuels my  dedication to creating a compassionate and supportive therapeutic relationship that offers space for healing, connection, and mind-body-spirit transformation.

Katrina's Journey

After having a personal experience with burnout and compassion fatigue from frontline healthcare at age twenty-seven, I was led on a personal healing journey with my body when no medical team had answers for why my body was showing symptomology of heart attacks, strokes and inflammation. Countless medical test results showed up with negative results. After being told that the medical team could do nothing else for my very sick body.

I started to research the impacts of vicarious trauma and developed a thirst for understanding epigenetics (cellular responses being turned on and off by emotional reactions to circumstances) and neuroplasticity. I began seeking healing to nurse my body back to health. This started a fourteen year journey of self-discovery and mind-body-spirit life transformation. Looking back, I have always had a keen interest in the many factors that impact one's state of well-being, and I was incorporating and practicing the importance of meditation, acknowledging the spirit self and mind-body-spirit mastery, long before mindfulness became a mainstream, best-practice means of healthcare in North America like it is recognized as today.

On my path of self-discovery, I learned excellent techniques to overcome anxiety symptoms of depression, clear my body of complex, unconscious traumatic blockages from childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood, and step into my full potential to create success, becoming the leader of my life and living every day in a place of gratitude and authenticity.

For the past thirteen years, I have enjoyed teaching others how to master their bodies and lives to turn their greatest pain into their greatest power to live their best life! I have always had a high respect for all humans, regardless of their walk of life. With the privilege of having unique travel experiences, I strive to share a culturally competent practice with others so that they feel accepted and respected as whole person and thrive in a compassionate therapeutic space of healing.

I feel privileged to partner with every individual who shows up at my door, ready to heal, ready to play and make life feel lighter. I believe in all possibilities in everyone’s ability to access natural, organic healing, at the heart of the whole-Self. I tend to attract clients who have tried everything else, and my office is their last stop of hope. However, soon they discover that it’s actually their final stop to accessing their hope and hope is where the healing adventure begins!

It would be my honor to support you in accessing your full potential to heal your life! I look forward to working with you soon!
