The BAUD, or Bio Acoustical Utilization Device, is a unique neurotherapy device designed to safely and effectively activate neuroplasticity (changes in the brain) by producing sound frequencies common with brain wave frequencies. The BAUD was originally developed for clinical use with ADD/ADHD and was later shown to be effective on a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, addiction, relationship issues, chronic pain, addictive urges and cravings.
Emerging research points to faulty neuroplasticity as a core problem in issues such as ADD/ADHD, anxiety, PTSD, chronic pain and addiction. Neural circuits can become sensitized - essentially "stuck" on - in an overactive firing state. Relieving negative feelings or chronic pain becomes very difficult, since this neural state perpetuates the exaggerated feelings, urges or sensations. Using BAUD therapy has been described as finding the "off" switch for these overactive circuits, providing lasting relief from chronic emotional and even physical issues.
The BAUD neurotherapy process is similar in many ways to Brainspotting and EMDR, with all 3 approaches using emotional activation, bi-lateral stimulation (activating left brain, then right brain, repeatedly) and focused mindfulness. BAUD therapy is unique in that is uses sound frequencies to pinpoint and calm overactive neural circuits (ex. the circuits that keeps you stuck in anxiety). The base frequency is used to find the targeted faulty neural circuit. The disruptor frequency is used to disrupt or neutralize the overactive circuit. Combined, these frequencies create a binaural (bi-lateral) pulse which allows for processing of unresolved emotions related to the targeted issue (ex. anxiety). The safe and gentle disruption results in a "reset" of neural circuits back to normal, providing lasting relief from the targeted issue (ex. anxiety).
